What I Did This Week
- Venting about Nicholas and Project Runway on the Facebook page of @louiseblack . #
- Dinner at Al Biernat's. This is a great restaurant. I've know Al since 1991 when he was GM of the Palm. #
- Hello loaner car: New Mercedes getting temp control fixed. No charge though, thank goodness. #
- So tired these days. Not sure why. I used to be able to get through the week on 5 hours of sleep a night. Now seven is barely enough. #
- Getting dinner at Sonic. #
- 1.1 million points on Bookworm. Need to stay away from that game for awhile! #
- Sitting at White Rock Lake watching the rain with Lea. #
- My dog coughs up hair balls. This can't be normal. #
- Watching the Mavericks play the Wizards. Man, the Marion acquisition is looking really strong. #
- Working on my Rhapsody playlists. Essential if you use the iPhone app. #
- Listening to Randy Travis. I love distinctive vocalists, and he is one of the best. #
- Am I the only one that buys organic meats and milk not because they are safer but because they treat the animals more humanely? #
- Playing #wordfu. Will never get @chaosdollheads score. Damn. #
- challenges you to beat their #WordFu score of 997. Think you can beat it? http://tinyurl.com/yza33zr #
- challenges you to beat their #WordFu score of 1746. Think you can beat it? http://tinyurl.com/yj84p6h #
- Going to watch Zombieland with Zoe. Lea is watching Toy Story 3D double feature with Mia and Willow. #
- Zombieland was good in a violent zombie-killing way. #
- Working on chapter 7 of my fantasy novel. Loved re-reading chapter six. I'm close to the kind of pulp fiction Burroughs vibe I'm going for. #
- Bought a copy of Orson Scott Card's "How To Write Science Fiction & Fantasy" for six bucks. Looking forward to reading it. #
- The life of a parent/writer: Writing interrupted mid-paragraph for a quick shopping trip. #
- Back spasms are now part of my life I think. 2 Motrin and a hot bath here I come. #
- Saw a couple with their kids at Half-priced books. They looked in their younger thirties. She called him "daddy," and he called her "mum." #
- I'm the odd sort of writer that needs to write a full chapter in one sitting. This makes for marathon writing sessions sometimes. #
- Over 4,000 words written and chapter not done. I'm done for the night. I'll have to finish it tomorrow. #
- My chapters are getting longer. Wonder if that's the nature of the story or something else. #
- Walking and bike riding with Lea, Mia, and Willow. #
- Having a frustratingly hard time surpassing 2,000 on #wordfu. Cannot face the humiliation at casa de dollheads on Wednesday. #
- Off to Office Depot for some office gear. Yes, my office in Farmers Branch is still mostly a bare room with a chair and desk and phone. #
- Watching the Mavs multiview on Uverse. Not sure I like it. #
